NASCAR notable Clint Bowyer this season joined the KMC Wheels family, driving the #14 Stewart Haas racing Ford in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup. The 38-year-old Bowyer is an eight-time Cup race winner, and took runner up honors in the 2012 championship.
Bowyer’s competition career began in his home state of Kansas when he started campaigning 50cc class motorcycles at the age of five. He earned over 200 wins and several championships before graduating to four-wheel competition. By 2002, he had earned the NASCAR Weekly Racing Midwest Championship.
His commitment to racing extends outside of his Cup car. The fan favorite driver also owns two teams in the Lucas Oil Late Model Series. He won his first championship as an owner in 2014 with driver Don O’Neal.
Now a resident of Mocksville, North Carolina, where he lives on a ranch with his wife, Lorra, son Cash and daughter Presley Elizabeth, he remains a hometown guy at heart. He is the owner of the namesake Clint Bowyer Autoplex in Emporia, Kansas, and is committed to the 79 Fund, to benefit the community’s children.
Bowyer’s 2 ½ year old son made headlines earlier this year for rooting for the other team: the youngster is a vocal Kyle Busch fan.
