Monster Energy Supercross Update: JGRMX Indianapolis Race Report

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (April 10, 2016) – Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. held round 13 of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship.  The Indianapolis event is always well attended, 60,085 fans were on-hand and for those that weren’t Fox Sports One broadcast the event live in its entirety.  In celebration of Yamaha’s 60th anniversary Justin Barcia’s and Weston Peick’s YZ450Fs were clad in Yamaha’s iconic yellow and black livery, rather than the usual blue.  Even the side panels and number fonts were reminiscent of those popular in the seventies and early eighties.

Peick transferred to the Main Event via a win in the LCQ after a crash in Semi One while in a transfer position.  Barcia transferred through Semi Two.  Both Peick and Barcia were mid-pack at the start of the Main Event.  Peick moved into the top-10 on lap six, maintaining 10th until a mistake at the halfway mark shuffled him back to 16th which is where he finished.  Barcia moved up as high as 12th before ultimately being scored 15th.

The Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo. will host round 14 of the series on April 16.  Fox will air the event live beginning at 3:00 p.m. (EST).  The earlier start time is to accommodate the live network broadcast.
